We want to be seen as authentic, which can be tough. We try hard with our branding and online presence, even when we’re just being casual. It’s funny how often someone says they’re being completely real, right before posting something super polished on social media that’s supposed to look effortless. It makes you wonder what “authentic” even means anymore, if being genuine is the key.
Maybe being authentic just means showing your flaws. Acknowledging that life’s messy, whether you’re carefully crafting your online image or just showing off what you like, is important. We should embrace our awkward moments and little mistakes. If authenticity is just about showing who you are, including the good and the bad, then it’s something we can actually do consistently.
PS. Sound like there is some vulnerability involved as well, no?
